Marc Ranger
Marc Ranger is a French-Canadian visual artist born and raised in Northern Ontario. Ranger’s work is playful and poetic with a queer sensibility. He studied a Bachelor of Design in Fashion Communications at Toronto Metropolitan University.
In his early career, Ranger explored fashion photography, styling and set design, working between Toronto and New York for clients such as David Lynch, Polaroid Originals and The Criterion Collection. He later became the Director of New Faces at Next Models Canada, where he developed his editorial eye by photographing and directing fashion models daily. These experiences sparked his love for direction, and underscored the importance of genuine human connection during the creative process. Ranger’s workflow and worldview take on this mindset.
These days, the artist is embracing concept-forward collaborations within the fashion, beauty and lifestyle space. The artist most recently collaborated with Gucci Beauty, where he creative-directed a short film that features Ranger painting a twelve-foot portrait inspired by the brand. The artist is currently making and selling artwork internationally and is available for exhibitions, commissions and collaborations.
