Kate, a Manicurist with a background in Makeup Art has been artistic and creative since early childhood.
She has run a successful small business in Downtown Toronto, NAiL KANDY, for the majority of her 10+ year Nail career. Shortly before becoming professionally trained in Nails, Kate was a budding Nail Artist making and selling sets of fun and cute decorated press-on Nails and hand mixed Nail Polish shades on Etsy to customers across the globe, and at local Toronto pop-up markets.
She focuses on using Gel products as her medium, from simple clean manicures to hand-sculpted extensions, and also a game-changing brand of Nail Polish that dries in just 5 minutes, which is perfect for the runway… But her specialty is one-of-a-kind Nail art. From pet portraits to abstract three-dimensional sculptures, the sky really is the limit, and she is grateful to have clients who challenge her to never repeat the same creation twice.
Throughout her career working in the Nail Industry, she has won Nail Art competitions, had her work published in several magazines, including People Stylewatch, WedLuxe and the cover of Figgi Magazine, and has worked on multiple TV series including Canada’s Drag Race, Slip, I Woke Up A Vampire, and The Great Chocolate Showdown.
Kate has worked on clients attending events and award shows, including New York Fashion Week, The Junos and The Oscars. Notable clients include Traci Melchor, Sarain Fox and Zoe Lister-Jones.
In addition to creating tiny bespoke works of art, Kate has a passion for educating about the Scientific side of Nail products and the chemistry behind how they work, and loves teaching clients to love their Nails.
