Alex is an on-camera personality, award winning producer/director, celebrated visual artist, and a creative entrepreneur.
Alex has worked with major brands like Adidas, Puma, Footlocker, And1, Scotch & Soda, Hudson’s Bay, MLSE and more in a wide range of projects serving as a host, interviewer, personality and marketing specialist. He has interviewed some of the world’s biggest names in music, sports, and pop culture such as; Ludacris, Big Sean, Maluma, Russell Peters, Kia Nurse, Zane Lowe, Nicky Jam, Jessie Reyez, Fred Vanvleet and many more. He also has hosted live events with the Toronto Raptors, an award winning prime time television special, “Alessia Cara: Live From Niagara Falls”, and a variety of on-camera content for Complex Networks, including his own show “1×1 With Alex Narvaez”.
As a producer and director, Alex has worked with major broadcasters and digital platforms in Canada such as the CBC, CTV, TSN, Corus Ent, Blue Ant Media and TIFF. In the US Alex has worked with major networks such as MTV, BET and the Africa Channel. He produced and directed “House of Strombo”, an Apple Music series featuring some of the world’s biggest musical artists. He also produced and directed three seasons of “Talkin’ Horses”, an award winning show focused on sports betting that aired on CTV and TSN. Most recently, Alex has taken on the role of lead producer for Complex Canada and has won a COPA award (Canadian Online Publishing Award) for the series “Northern Clutch” which Alex created, produced and directed.
As a visual artist, Alex’s work has been featured in Nuit Blanche, the Toronto Eaton Centre, the Scarborough Civic Centre, the TTC and the Toronto Public Library. Alex uses video and photography as a vehicle to create social change. He is the co-founder of “Scarborough Made” and it’s expansion project “1Boro”, a production company and marketing agency with a focus on mentoring and creating employment opportunities for youth in the arts. Scarborough Made has led major public art installations and became a signature project of the City of Toronto in 2021.
